traveling south WA....in a motorhome

Day 1-We started our journey in Port Hedland,WA on Wednesday the 16th December. On the first day we drove to a roadhouse at Nanutarra and got some diesel. We stayed there at the roadhouse for 1 night.
DAY 2 We travelled to
Carnarvon and had dinner there. We stayed at the side of the road in a rest area and we could see thousands of stars. Mum saw a shooting star.

On the way to Denham

DAY 3 We left Carnarvon at 9.00am and we set off for Denham. When we were at Denham we swam at this beautiful beach. Kade swam to a small yacht and Charlie, Kade and Dad swam to a small outlying diving platform. Charlie saw a beige coloured fish like the colour of a stone fish but much bigger and hundreds of tiny fish off the platform through her goggles. We stayed at a free camp at Eagles' Bluff. Well worth the trip such beautiful views.

Our view from Eagle's Bluff

DAY4 We woke up early and we drove to a nature reserve called Monkey Mia. We didn't see a dolphin but Kade saw a turtle and an Emu paid us a visit. It was very unlikely that the dolphins didn't show up...Dad thought it was mum's hair that scared them away! We left to drive to Geraldton at 9.00am. When we got to our destination we went to a party at Dads friends new house and we stayed up until 12.30.

Kids in the spa - check out that view

DAY5 We had a rest day today and a sunset picnic and swim at Sunset Beach Geraldton.

DAY6 We drove to Perth today and were amazed by how small it looks compared to Melbourne or Sydney.

DAY 7 The motorhome was getting a routine check up so we went into the Perth CBD for some shopping and a movie. We saw Where the Wild things Are...Kade didn't like it but Charlie and Mum did. After today's shopping we drove to Margaret River.
DAY 8- We are staying in Margaret river for 5 days. Its a very beautiful place with heaps of trees and it is nice and cool. Great to escape that scorching Pilbara heat. There is lots of chocolate, cheese and wine here.

Day 9 We started the day with walking up margaret rivers main street and geting some groceries. When we got back we decided to go on a bit of a tour around the town. First, we went to a shop called candy cow, were they made lollies(yay!)chocolate(double yay!) and something called honeycrunch(never heard of that before have you)? Then we walked a short distance to a cheese and dips shop. Kade got brie,Mum got french blue, and Charlie some sort of sheep cheese. After buying our cheeses, we drove to the margaret river chocolate company, which sold chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! After a B-E-A utiful hot chocolate and brownie, we left to go to a near-by brewery for a bit of a look. We looked for about 15 minutes then decided to go to Laurence Winery so mum and dad could do some tasting. It was a fantastic building with fabulous gardens. We are back at the caravan park and are now cooking bacon and eggs for dinner. Hope the old fat man with red pyjamas finds us tomorrow for Christmas Day!!

The plane with the pig-nose - Kade

Look what flew into Port Hedland! A massive Russian Antonov an-124-100 cargo plane!

The plane flew into Port Hedland airport on the 12Th of October. It was carrying a very big winch as a ship winch in the Port had snapped on the weekend. My mum, sister and I watched as the winch was being prepared to be taken out of the plane's belly and then delivered to the port on a wide-load truck. It was an amazing sight, as it is such a large aircraft. To me it kinda looks like a c-130 Hercules cargo plane. As I said, it's made in Russia, and is something that they're very proud of.

Next time I'm planning to write about a movie. Until next time, see you later!

Photo Shoot at Matahari - Kuta

The second day we were in Kuta I was asked if I'd like to do a photo shoot for Opera Tokyo Cosmetics.

A make-up artist put purple eye shadow, mineral foundation, black mascara, lip gloss and then she combed my hair back and put a flower in it.
2 people gave me a few different Kiminos to try on. I liked the pink one, it looked like flowers.

Next the fun started. The camera man put me in poses. Here are some below

When I was finished taking over 100 photos, they asked Kade to join in. He didn't really want to but we made him.

We then had some pictures taken together.

Lembongan, By any means

When we went to Bali in August, we went to a town called Sanur and we bought tickets for a fast boat to get us to a little island called Nusa Lembongan. Our hotel in Kuta (where we stayed most of the time) orded a charter to get us to Sanur, a large coastal town where boats to Lembongan launch from the beaches. We boarded a small boat, only big enough for 10-15 people and went across the strait to Lembongan. When we were in the middle of the sea, water splashed into the boat and I got a little wet. The boat went up and down, up and down in the raging sea. Before I knew it, we could see the island where we would stay for 5 days. The boat slowed down out the window and I could see sea-weed farms in the water. I have never seen sea-weed farms before, and trust me, it’s an odd sight. The sea-weed is grown in the water and the sections of the sea-weed are fenced off to the other sections. When I jumped off the boat as we docked, I thought I was in paradise. I was!

We walked up a lot of steps to our room, over 100. It was the best room I have ever stayed in. The room had its own plunge pool, room for 10 people, and best of all, a mini bar! For the next 2 days, we just lounged around in such a big room, and enjoyed the awesome view. We could see the entire bay from our room. Hard to think were only 12 miles from mainland Bali!

On the last day of our stay Mum, Dad, Charlie and I hired 2 Mopeds, little motorbikes. (There are no cars on the island) We went all around the island in about an hour. When we got back to the town Mum and Charlie hopped off and my father and I sped into the hills of Lembongan. The motor bikes were both Hondas, one red and the other was black. We rode all around the island and went across the scariest bridge I’ve ever been on. It was made of wooden planks and didn’t look safe at all. We made it over the bridge in 1 piece (which was good!) and rode around an even smaller island called Nusa Penida (something likes that!).Some children showed us a lovely view of Christmas Bay (very picturesque) after that, I rode back to Lembongan and we packed, ready to go back to Bali. Lembongan was small, but beautiful and the food and people were great.

Turning 12

It was my 12th birthday on the 2nd of august, 2 days ago. Dad woke me up early(6:00) as he always goes to work early and had to go to work on my birthday. Mum and my sister came next, and they both sat on my double bed.I opened my grandparents' card first, and I got $50.Next I opened a present from Charlie which was a robot made of wire, beads, and oddly coloured rubber stuff. It also held a strung bow in its hands. After that cool present I opened a present from my uncle Jason and it was a nokia 5030 mobile phone. It's a small, black and red phone with a massive speaker. It was one of my best presents so far. My present from Mum and Dad was a games workshop gift card, a subscription to Top Gear magazine, and a PlayStation 2 game called Buzz: the mega quiz, which, like the name suggests is a general knowledge game full of funny mini-games, good 1-liners and the odd mix of contestants. I played with my presents most of the day. I also got money from Pop and vouchers from my best friend Ben and his family.
When Dad got home from work we went out to the pub for dinner. Mum and I went halves with chicken parmigiana and fettuccine carbonara. I enjoyed the pasta best. We arrived home and the family sang happy birthday and presented the cake. It was a, by any standards, brilliant, mouth watering massive cake. It was a double layered mud cake with lollies and special wafery M and Ms. Also, it was held together by white chocolate with M and Ms inside. It was delicious. Mum and Charlie made it.

Thank You for reading and I will make another post soon

Horse Races

I went to the Hedland Cup on the 3rd of August.

I wore a black feather fascinator in my hair, Pumpkin Patch flowered dress and & flat pink shoes. Mum also wore a fascinator & black dress that has a purple V neck with purple court shoes. She carried a black clutch with tiny mirrored tiles. We saw lots of pretty ladies. My favourite outfit of the day was a lady that had a facinator with stripes of yellow, blue and red. Her dress was all black with one strap over the shoulder. She wore it with a yellow beaded necklace and yellow wedged heels.

The crowd of 8000 cheered on Teppanyaki as he won the cup. He is a bay coloured horse trained in Port hedland by Kevin. He swims at Pretty Pool beach for exercise near our house. He won $27, 500 for the race.

It was hard to walk around because there were so many people. I spoke to two of the four mounted policemen. I told them that my Uncle owns a race horse in Victoria. They spoke to me about the new horses they had which were Clydies. I had a pat and the horse licked my hand with it's rough tongue.

It was a fun day. I enjoyed getting dressed up and looking at the horses.

Spinifex Festival-The Fair in Port Hedland

I went to a fair on Saturday and went into a zorb ball. They were fanastic.I had a turn in the bumper cars with Dad and I drove the car. I span around in the middle of the circuit and crashed into Kade's car.

I got 2 show bags full of bubble gum and sour lollies. I bought a ring made of beads from a lady who sold hairclips, shell rings, bracelets and belts. They were all beautiful and I wanted to buy the whole store!!!!!!

I went on a jumping castle, it had a climbing post to get up to the big slide and a play area at the front.

We saw 2 bands play. The first band are locals and are called Sliptanfell. The 2nd band was called End of Fashon. This was the first time I went to a real band. Dad and I danced and he swang me around in circles.

My face was painted as a blue butterfly and I had a tattoo of Jasper airbrushed on my thigh. There was horse riding and I got to ride Starlight. It was the biggest horse at the festival. It was a fab day.

Dad's Work

Dad is building a motel, Mum says it's a mining camp. Kade thinks it's in the middle of the desert but it's only 10km away near the airport.

It looks like lego blocks on an orange game board, Kade says.
I think it looks like a Pokemon Ball! :-) By Charlie

Charlie's Crabbing Experience

During the week I found a crab. It lives on the beach in Pretty Pool. It looks like a fighting crab. The crab probably has a Mum and a Dad.
I saw this crab and I'm guessing it was looking for fish to make friends with and it found a Hermit crab. I got really scared from just looking at it. It was fat and has big claws. Dad pulled up a rock and the crab had a fight with my Dad. The crab won. No crabs for dinner tonight.

Now we have a crab net, now you're not going to escape Crabbies. Here we come!

School of the Home

I started home school this Monday. I'm usually in a private school, but this term I'm being schooled at home. I think it's better than normal schools in some ways, like having a teacher for two people instead of waiting 2 hours for the teacher to get to you . Then you forget your question and you have to go through the entire process again and again until its recess time. Then you have extra work for home( which always sucks as this has happened to me a few times!). When I'm home schooled, I think it's better that your teacher at home( in this case my mum) gives you work that you specifically need to help you in school, instead of just being given the same work as everyone else in the class. The only problem I have with home schooling is that I can't see my friends like I would be able to if I was still in Geelong.

At home school we learned about how to blog on the laptop, we got sidetracked when we went to the beach for two hours(instead of 3o min.) We also did stuff like drawing and maths and lots of other things like indonesian and swimming in our own pool( I doubt you could do so much at school in 1 week!).

Thy QANTAS Club by Kade

When I first arrived at thy qantas club, I will openly admit that I was surprised. All of the seats were new, the food and drinks were free, and you could read magazines(for free). It looked great, the food was excellent and the magazines were new( as far as i could tell!) I had to wait about an hour until our flight left for Perth, so I used the time wisely, eating delicious biscuts ,camembert and bree cheese, all and all, filling my stomach with treats. I talked about the flight to my sister Charlie to waste some time until we left.

Plane to Perth and PH by Charlie

Sat 11th July
I am on the plane now and the seat belt light just went off. I am in a cloud. The Steward just said, "Lunch will be served." I am on top of a cloud and sitting near the engine. It looks like there is a lake in the clouds. They are very puffy and the small ones move really quickly. The sun is shining in my eyes.
Kade is playing on his laptop. I am going to Perth and from Perth to Port Hedland.
It is all white but one bit. It looks like there is a ditch in the clouds.

I am now on the plane to Port Hedland. I had chicken and rice. My mum is playing Kade's DS. She is playing Who Wants to be a Millionaire. The first answer is C. The next one is C. The next one is D. The next one is B. The next one is A and she lost!!
I went in the Qantas club and it was fun. It was for free and there were nice drinks and food.
